KINGSTON, Jamaica — January 07, 2014 — Mobile application development company Aranis Technologies Limited has developed and published a mobile application for the Windows Phone OS platform, the first of its kind in the Caribbean, for Portmore based radio station SunCity Radio 104.9 FM.
The application was developed over the course of one month and was made available in the Windows Phone Store on January 6, 2014 after rigorous testing and subsequent certification by Microsoft’s Windows Phone Certification Team. It joins the successful family of mobile applications developed by Aranis Technologies for the rapidly growing radio station which already includes Blackberry, Android and iOS (iPhone) applications.
“We are very excited to be able to partner with SunCity Radio to deliver yet another ground-breaking mobile application” said Aranis Technologies CEO Samuel Folkes. “Since its inception, Aranis Technologies Limited has always helped to set trends and has blazed a trail for other software development companies in Jamaica. We were the first in Jamaica to develop a radio application for the BlackBerry platform back in 2010 and now, 3 years later, we’re the first in Jamaica to develop a mobile radio application for the Windows Phone 8 platform that has been certified by Microsoft for inclusion in the Windows Phone Store.”
The application allows users to listen to the live audio stream broadcast by SunCity Radio 104.9 FM and has a number of features including a news section that allows users to read news articles published by SunCity Radio 104.9 FM and an events section that gives access to the latest events endorsed by the radio station. Additionally, the application gives users access to the station’s broadcast schedule as well as some background information about the station’s announcers and disc jockeys.
